To mark British Black Music Month 2008, BTWSC in association with BritishBlackMusic.com/Black Music Congress, introduces Brent youths aged 14-19 to a music making experience that eshews modern technology.

The budding rappers, MCs and singers will be helped to develop their lyrical and performing skills working with Niles Hailstones (African drums and vocals), Maya Jobarteh (kora and vocals), and Kwaku (lyrical development). Confident participants will have an opportunity to perform on The Great British Black Music Singalong Concert on Friday June 27 2008 at Bridge Park Complex.

This after-school event takes place Fridays June 6, 13 and 20, 4-7pm. Refreshments provided. There will be a recording of the performances. It is £free, but you need to book. Application and further information can be accessed at http://www.btwsc.com/projects.php?id=26&project=detail. Â

This event is a Roots To Branches promotion by BTWSC in association with BritishBlackMusic.com/Black Music Congress, and kindly supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
